In "Trouble at the Interface or the Identity Crisis of Interactive Art" (2004), Erkki Huhtamo talks about the properties used in “Interactive Art”. He touches on how the definition has been altered due the technological advancement. Interactive art is one the art forms that your audience the most. An art piece that I would like to talk about is as piece by the famous Marina Abramović. The piece is called Rhythm 0, (1974). This is a unique interactive art piece because it is also a performance piece. So she decides to stand and have a table with objects. The objects that she left could either cause pain or pleasure. She was being harassed, hurt, and almost killed. It was crazy to see that people would tear her clothes out just to have her naked. This type of art piece is what make you realize what kind of society we live in because this is the kinds of things people would do if they were given the chance to do whatever they wanted.

In "Database as Symbolic Form", Lev Manovich explains that the database evolved from the narrative, yet is now "enemies" with the narrative. He compares and analyzes both and touches on the fact that databases are meant to be unorganized, the randomness to be left up to the viewer to interpret the meaning. He touches on the fact that computer games and I wanted to add that of this randomized database would be applications like Pandora. In this application you make a radio station with either the (Song, Artist, Genre) to play music by similar to one of the three. And it a random selection from the database of where they have the music.

In Florian Cramer's "Concepts, Notations, Software, Art" (2002), he talks about the idea of instructional art. The author of an intructional piece of art simply provides instructions to the viewer, and then the viewer follows the instructions, (as ambiguous as they may be), to create a piece of artwork. So we pay much attention to what we see but we do pay attention to why we see what we see. A example I like to use a lot when I talk about coding because I replicated this game before when I to CS class. The game Snake it is interactive and it great to see how it work. Why is it that we you eat you get bigger and when you crash with the wall you die. That the example that came to mind when reading this article.

Project

For the software project I decided to go with the interactive game. A game that I made based of the famous cell phone game Snake. Similar in a way that you direct the snake with arrows to leave a path of were it has already been through. This game actually reminds me of my childhood when I used to play "Etch A Sketch". I gave people the chance to play this on my computer so that they could make whatever is in there mind. I told them that they can try this as many times as they would like until they got something that they liked. So I took two examples of te subjects that I did so that you can see what they came up with.
