In "Origin and Development of Robotic Art" by Eduardo Kac, he talks about the integration of robotics and society. There is no exact manner to define what a robot should or could be intended for. I found it interesting that robots became acceptable through portraying the "human-ness" of these metal beings. Artists showed machines to have emotions and feelings; from sad, humorous, or terror and thus not to be feared. Machine-kind became accepted after giving these unfeeling metal parts some human emotions. This was the thought that I found most interesting.
"Robo Renga" by Erkki Huhtamo and Machiko Kusahara explore the relationship between robot and art. It poses the question, "What is a robot?" What makes a robot a robot and not a input/output machine? Does it function as a brain or a body?
