Project Drawing Robot Make a "robot" that draws. You can repurpose electronics that have movement (toys, fans) our use hobby motors. For my hardware project I decided to create a drawing robot out of my electrical toothbrush, writing utensils, and string. I got the idea one night before going to bed while brushing my teeth and thought how funny it would be to brush your teeth with paint, reversing the effect. I thought back to Valentino's article saying, , if you are prepared to follow me not through a world of real brains but through a toy world that we will create together”, thinking of the psychology of toys and machines I use everyday. Does my toothbrush have a personality? How does it feel, and is it frustrated with always being in an environment of plaque filled teeth? What if I freed up my tooth brush and allowed it to get these frustrations out on paper? I set up the toothbrush so that it now had a pen to write with instead of a head of bristles. Hanging on its own all I need to do is press the on button and let her go! She’s free, aggressive, but able to express her innate feelings. Click here to checkout bristlebots!

hanging from a string taped to the wall my electric toothbrush spun in circles to create interesting patterns.

Looks like my project turned into a collaborative piece! Condiments sprinkled over to my drawing robot.
